Dimpled High Density Polyethylene Protection & Drainage Membrane with a Polyester Geotextile Layer.
abe.®drain G is a dimpled high density polyethylene protection and drainage membrane combined with a polyester geotextile layer which offers great resistance to all chemical agents usually found in soil and groundwater and to mechanical compression.
abe.®drain G is used to effectively drain water in roof gardens and planters in conjunction with a geotextile and protective membrane such as Index Defend H.
Other uses are:
- Retaining walls.
- General purpose.
- Good value.
- Resistant to chemicals usually found in soil and groundwater.
- Protection of waterproofing membrane.
- Excellent drainage capacity.
- Thermal insulation.
- Extra strength.
- Secondary waterproofing system.
Do not butt-joint sheets.
Typical Physical Properties
The surface area must be waterproofed according to a.b.e.® Construction Chemicals’ specifications. This is not a primary waterproofing membrane but is recommended for buried dual layer system applications. The first layer consisting of a 3 mm torch-on will be abe® unigum followed by an antiriot bituminous membrane such as Index Defend H. Lay the abe.®drain G with the dimples upwards. Should it be necessary to overlap then 75 mm would be sufficient (3 dimples). Apply super laykold waterproofing tape 100 mm wide along the flat part of the product for this purpose. Spread out the soil according to the instructions of a qualified landscaper.
For the Drainage and Protection of Walls:
The surface area must be waterproofed with Index Fidia P/ Indextene according to a.b.e.® Construction Chemicals’ specification. Ensure that the waterproofing membrane is completely covered with abe.®drain G for maximum protection. Measure the wall’s height, including a flap that must be folded back and wrapped around the drainage pipe. Allow an additional 100 mm above the finished ground level before cutting the sheet. Should it be necessary to overlap then 75 mm would be sufficient (3 dimples). Apply super laykold waterproofing tape 100 mm wide along the flat part of the product for this purpose. Install the sheet with the dimples and the geotextile towards the soil. To join the drainage pipe to the inside of the geotextile, detach the geotextile from the abe.®drain G up to 1 metre in height. Place the drainage pipe on the abe.®drain G after having first placed a layer of drainage material under the pipe. Wrap the detached geotextile under the pipe. Cover the pipe with some drainage material to keep everything in place before backfilling. Finish off the abe.®drain G at least 100 mm above the finished ground level and cover with a counter flashing
Install abe.®drain G as supplied using an overlap of 75 mm between the sheets resulting in an overall coverage of 45 m2 per roll.
The drainage and protection membrane will be abe.®drain G a dimpled high density polyethylene protection and drainage membrane with a polyester geotextile layer as supplied by a.b.e.® Construction Chemicals.
The abe.®drain G will be applied in accordance with the recommendations of a.b.e.® Construction Chemicals.
In order to guarantee the quality and characteristics of the abe.®drain G product, it is recommended to use the range of accessories. Please consult the technical department at a.b.e.® Construction Chemicals.
