Resin Based Concrete Curing Compound

CHRYSO®Cure R is a petroleum resin emulsion which forms an impermeable skin on the concrete surface which prevents the evaporation of water. This facilitates enhanced curing, prevents shrinkage, cracking and produces concretes with elevated mechanical strengths and a harder wearing surface.

CHRYSO®Cure R is formulated in a manner which allows it to disintegrate after a period of four to eight months dependent on weather conditions and abrasion on the surface. CHRYSO®Cure R provides a resin membrane on the surface of newly placed concrete to retain moisture to allow effective curing to take place.

CHRYSO®Cure R exceeds standard requirements of the A.S.T.M. C309 test and complies with the A.S.T.M. C309 as a type 1-D curing compound.

Directions for Use

CHRYSO®Cure R is a spray applied to the newly placed concrete, care being taken to ensure complete cover-age of the surface. Various types of spraying equipment can be used i.e. Knapsack or motorized sprayers. Brush application can be used for smaller areas. CHRYSO®Cure R should be applied as soon as possible after the concrete has been surface finished, i.e. trowelled, tamped or textured as required, but generally within 30 minutes or earlier if in conditions of hot sun or strong drying winds.

NoteOn vertical surfaces or soffits of concrete which may be partially dried out after being retained in shuttering for several days, it is imperative that the concrete should be well wetted before applying the curing compound.

Never apply to dry or semi-dry concrete. To ensure the ultimate breakdown of the CHRYSO®Cure R film, heavier coating should be avoided.

Pigmented curing compound: On request CHRYSO®Cure R can be supplied with a white pigment for curing where light reflectance is needed.

Coverage: A coverage rate of 5m2/L should be maintained.

Additional Information

A range of wax based high efficiency CHRYSO®Cure are available to meet specific curing requirements. There is also a permanent curing aid which will accept direct application of paints and other surface finishes.

If contact with the resin occurs, the skin should be washed with soap and water!

Note solvent: A resin removing cream should preferably be used. Goggles should be worn when spraying with a short lance. Any eye contamination should be washed with plenty of water and medical treatment sought. When used in enclosed areas, good ventilation must be provided.

Fire: CHRYSO®Cure R is non-flammable. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet available from CHRYSO.
