creosote/Coal Tar Wood Preservative
creosote is a dark brown to black liquid derived entirely from coal tar and having a typical coal tar odour.
Uses
creosote is intended for use in the preservation of timber, exterior use only. The toxicity and strong odour prohibit the interior use of creosote for both human and animal habitation. It should not come into contact with food or potable water.

Stir well before and during use.

Application
Application by brush or dip.
Cleaning
Tools, brushes and mixing equipment should be cleaned immediately after use and before material has set with abe® super brush cleaner followed by washing with soap and water.
Protection on Completion
None.

Do not apply if temperature is below 5°C.

Model Specification
Coal tar based wood preservative.
The wood preservative will be creosote, a coal tar wood preservative applied in accordance with the recommendations of a.b.e.®Construction Chemicals.
Packaging
5L, 25L, 200L containers.
Handling & Storage
This product has a shelf life of 12 months if kept in a dry cool place in the original packaging. In more extreme conditions this period might be shortened.
Health & Safety
All tar-based products are classed as carcinogenic. creosote is toxic and flammable. Always ventilate a working area very well during application in order to remove fumes. The fumes are extremely strong smelling and the smell lingers for a long time. Avoid naked flames in the vicinity. Avoid excessive inhalation and skin contact. Clean hands well before smoking or eating. If material is splashed in the eye, wash well with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention.
Note: Never store treated articles in the vicinity of fish, birds, bees or animals.
