Surface Preparation

All surfaces must be clean dry, sound and free of oils and laitance. The outer surface of the inner brick wall is to be rendered smooth to a fine wood float type finish using a duralatex modified cementitious mortar before applying brixeal.

Application

Two coats of brixeal are recommended to ensure that any pinholes or lean spots left in the first coat are taken up, thus ensuring an even coating. Where brush applied, brixeal should be flowed on with as few strokes as possible, ensuring that the surface is fully covered. While brixeal may be applied directly to a stock brick wall as a waterproof barrier, better results will be obtained if the surface is first ‘bagged’ with a duralatex modified sand/cement/water slurry in the usual way.

Coverage

brixeal is to be applied in two coats, 1st coat at 2m2/litre and the 2nd coat at 4m2/litre.
